On this snowy Sunday afternoon of February 9th, just over twenty people gathered in Mack Hall for the annual Bowl Painting Experience that our parish sponsors in anticipation of the upcoming Empty Bowl Event to support the Westmoreland Food Bank. This afternoon there were nineteen ceramic bowls painted in a variety of colors and with various artist expressions. These, once “fired” by the Crafty Shack, will be added to the hundreds upon hundreds of bowls being prepared for this yearly fundraiser to be held on March 9th at Saint Bruno Church Hall in South Greensburg.
Those who came today donated ten dollars for each bowl painted (to cover costs). They were each invited at sign up for tickets for the Empty Bowl Event next month, with tickets provided by the Charity Fund of our parish. Not only did they do a beautiful job, but the fellowship and snacks were delightful as well. Pictures from the event are posted on the Photo Gallery
To all who participated today, to all who work on this worthwhile project initiated by Karen Piper and spearheaded by many from our parish, we express our thanks and gratitude. Plan on visiting Saint Bruno’s on the afternoon of Sunday, March 9th.
