On this weekend on which the Church celebrates the Feast of the Holy Family, we had the honor of welcoming into the Family of God three youngsters whose parents traveled far to share their baptisms with their families. On Saturday at Noon we baptized Leo David Filiano, the son of Anthony and Ashley Nicole Upton Filiano from Charlottesville, Virginia. With the permission of their pastor in Charlottesville, we welcomed the family to our parish for this great moment of blessing. They sent us a few pictures of the baptism.
The grandparents and family are in the area, and they have come home for this great event. We are glad that they joined us.
On Sunday afternoon at 12:15 pm we also welcomed into the Family of God fraternal twins – Sloane Margaret and Turner Gerard Nguyen, the children of Paul John and Bethany Elder Nguyen of McLean, Virginia. They, too, had the permission of their pastor, Father Christopher Pollard of the Church of Saint John the Beloved in McLean. Again, family and friends gathered to share in this special moment of grace.
All three children were beautiful and delightful in our celebrations, and it was our honor to share the gift of new life with these children of the Commonwealth of Virginia on this Holy Family weekend.
