ADVENT CONFESSIONS

We often designate special weeks for specific occasions.  This coming week we could call “Confession Week” in the Norwin area.  As I mentioned in the last post, the opportunity to prepare our hearts for Christ at his birthday is found in the Sacrament of Reconciliation.  Today (Saturday) I heard a number of confessions during the regularly scheduled time period.  I usually hear a small number each week on Saturday mornings, and today was no exception.  This Monday afternoon the local priests will visit Queen of Angels School to make the Sacrament available to the youngsters.  And then we begin the marathon on Monday evening in Herminie.  As I said in the last post, Monday in Herminie, Tuesday here, Wednesday at IC and Thursday at Saint Agnes.  There will be hundreds availing themselves of the sacrament.  Will you be one of them?  These will be the last opportunities before Christmas (no confessions next Saturday).  If it has been awhile, listen to what Pope Francis tweeted on December 14th – “Don’t be afraid to go to confession, where you will meet Jesus who forgives you.”  Good, sound advice.  If needed, see you soon at one of our Penance Services.  And bring not only yourself, but family and/or a friend.
