After beginning with the celebration of the Saints of God on the 1st of November, the Church pauses to remember the Faithful Departed in a special way on November 2nd, the Feast of All Souls, and continues throughout the month of November at our Masses and in our prayers. The names of our loved ones, given by you, are placed upon the altar throughout the month. They have also been added to the Book of Remembrance that will be placed near the Tabernacle, a book to which you are invited to add the names of those that you love that have died.
Our Saturday evening Mass on November 2nd will allow us to remember in a special way those who have died since last November 2nd. During the Mass, the names of those buried from our Church or parishioners who have died and celebrated a Blessing Service will be read, and a family member will be invited to come to pick up the wooden cross that had been placed on their loved one’s casket at the time of the funeral. This cross is a reminder of our prayers for this individual. It is always a beautiful celebration.
Those who have died during this time are (in alphabetical order): Rebecca Bilott … Ann Brady … Marcella Bulischeck … Larue Bulloch … Ann B. Clay … Dolores Dillman … John Fuga … Josephine Faulisi … Stephen Gazda … Donald Glenn … Herbert Henry … Antoinette Horvath … Mary Baird Hovis … Frances Hydak … Joseph Karas … Carol Magnus … Edward Makara … Diane Reiness … Lisa Stack … Henry Stanoszek … Mary Vockley … Marie Teresa Zihmer and Fran Zentner. We also remember Bishop Anthony Bosco, our retired bishop, who died this past summer.
May their souls, and the souls of all of the Faithful Departed, through the mercy of God, rest in peace, Amen
