The month of October is dedicated by the Church to Mary, under the title of Our Lady of the Rosary. This great devotion that Mary entrusts to us helps us to focus upon the mystery of salvation that touches our lives. Originaly a form of prayer that allows us to reflect upon the Joyful, Sorrowful, Glorious and now Luminous mysteries while we recite the key prayers of the Our Father, Hail Mary and Glory Be, the rosary allowed those who could not pray the 150 psalms to pray the decades of Hail Mary’s with the Church.
We encourage you to pray the rosary often. In our parish we pray the rosary before each weekend Mass during October, and invite you to come early and join us. There is a group that prays the rosary after the weekday Masses in the Church.
October 7th is the feast of Our Lady of the Rosary. we have Mass at 8:00 am that day. The 2013 Diocesan Rosary Rally will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, October 5th, at Blessed Sacrament Cathedral, to which we are invited.
Mary, Queen of the Rosary, pray for us!
